Music at Joy
Choirs, Vocal soloists and other instrumentalists participate in worship and special events throughout the year. If you are interested in sharing the musical gifts God has given you, please contact the church office or the Worship & Music Committee.
The Joyful Men's Chorus: The JMC is a men's a cappella choir. From September through May, JMC rehearses on the first two Tuesdays of each month, and sings on the following Sunday. Music selections focus on four-part men's harmonies. Our rehearsals combine fellowship, hard work and laughter. To learn more about the JMC, please contact church office and leave a message for Director Mike Lowe.
Sing for Joy: This choir is for both men and women (Junior High through Adult) with rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm (except for the summer months). The mixed choir usually sings on one Sunday each month and plays a large part in the additional singing opportunities during the Christmas season and Lenten season. Instrumentalists are often included with the choir.
There is fun and fellowship in being involved with no long-term commitments…..won’t you join us? For more information, please contact the church office and leave a message for Director, Dr. Alice Brook.
Shout for Joy: Children ages Pre-K through fifth grade are welcome to sing. They participate in special services at Christmas and Easter as well as other special events in our church community. For more information, please contact the church office.
Joy Youth Singing Group: Jr. and Sr. High Youth typically rehearse at 6:30 on Wednesdays during the school year (except for the first Wednesday of the month when the youth group meets). It is an informal group that occasionally sings and play instruments in worship and for special events, but otherwise just loves to get together and make music. If you would like more information please contact church office and leave a message for Joan Olsen.
