We believe that one of the best ways we can show the love of God to our neighbors is by being a good neighbor to our community. That's why we partner with organizations around Tulsa County to provide service, help raise funds, collect and deliver donations and help those in need. Here are some of the organizations we’ve worked with to do God's work with our hands:

Getting involved:

Call the church office at (918) 299-3292 and leave a message to learn more about our outreach initiatives. We keep a donation bin in our Narthex to collect canned goods, which we then donate to the Jenks Community Food bank, who feed thousands of families in our community annually. We strive to form connections - between our members, with our community and with newcomers to our congregation- seeking new ways to gather people to connect and to be stewards of God’s word.

Events our congregation has championed:
- Housing families in need in our Church with Family Promise of Tulsa County, offering a safe haven while families get back on their feet
- Book drives to benefit Jenks East
- Clothing drives to benefit Tulsa Boys Home/Jenks East Elementary & Intermediate
- Volunteer to work and play with kids and families at Jenks East’s 1-2nd grade literacy night
- Serving meals to individuals experiencing homelessness in Tulsa County with Night Light Tulsa

We also believe that one of the greatest joys of belonging to Joy Lutheran is getting to know your fellow members better. We love to pray together, dance together, dream together and form unbreakable bonds through worship and fun events outside of worship service. Here are some examples of fellowship events connecting members to get to know each other better:

- Campfire and marshmallows night
- Cookout and concert series (eat at church and walk across the street to Shops of Seville for an outdoor concert)
- Christmas caroling & s'mores at nearby nursing homes 
- Good old fashioned Pot Lucks to celebrate holidays, special occasions & fellowship
