Okay. For the vast majority of you taking a moment to read this, that attention-grabbing headline isn’t actually for you. Over the course of Holy Week we had fantastic crowds of over 70 people in worship for Palm Sunday, Easter, and a funeral in between. It was so good to be with all y’all!
And I always expect numbers to fall off after Easter, because May is a busy month: graduations, other travel, and some folks are saving their energy for Mothers Day and we’ll see them then. Totally expected!
Meanwhile some folks continue to participate from home, which we’re totally encouraging and have invested heavily in making possible, even as we continue to learn how to do it well.
But if you’re wondering why we’re having two Sunday services through Memorial Day: It’s because y’all’ve asked for it. Often. And this seemed like the right time to give it a go.
It’s just that we need voices to fill it up our sanctuary when we join together in song. Yesterday some Lutherans visiting from Kansas made the late service “loud”—in a good way! We need your participation. If you’re watching on Facebook, drop us a “hello.” If you’re traveling, we’ll see you when you get back.
But if you’re waiting for a signal, or an invitation, or a special occasion, consider this to be the moment you’ve been waiting for: We miss you. Surely the God of heaven and earth does not need your worship, but we need your presence in worship to make our Joy complete.
